* Why "up to" 8Mb?
- Broadband is described as 'up to 8Mb' because download speeds will vary depending on your telephone line and location.
- Actual download speeds can reach a maximum of 7Mb, with an average speed of 5-6Mb. BT Wholesale estimates that 78% of customers will achieve download speeds of 4Mb and above.
- It is likely that speeds no greater than 2Mb will be achieved at peak usage times due to contention in our network and our suppliers' networks.
- Download speeds will vary significantly in the first 10 days after connection and then will become more consistent.

It is not suitable for binary Usenet, peer-to-peer, VPN, FTP or lots of music and video downloads. If you're an experienced user and you want to use these services you should choose Broadband Pay As You Go or Broadband Premier.

How much can I use?
Broadband Plus is designed for a maximum usage of 4GB peak times (4pm-Midnight) and 50GB offpeak (midnight-4pm) in any given month.

If your usage goes over 4GB per month during peak or 50GB off peak, your service will be heavily restricted until the start of your next billing month when your usage is reset. If you are downloading large files you should do this outside of the busy periods. If you want to download lots of music or video we recommend Broadband Your Way.

How is traffic managed?
We manage Broadband Plus to give priority to web surfing and email. Data intensive applications such as peer-to-peer of large downloads are restricted at all times and may not function at peak times. Your peak time download speeds will slow down as you approach your usage allowance. Find out more about traffic management

Stay for 12 months and you never pay a penny for your setup. If you leave within the 12 months you pay the standard £72 for activation and hardware, or £47 if you just take free activation and no hardware.

For every year you stay with PlusNet we'll guarantee that the cancellation cost decreases. What does this mean? If you cancel within the first year, then you will pay £47 for the activation. For every year you stay we'll reduce this by £9.40. If you also choose to take a modem as part of the offer there will be an additional cancellation fee of £25 in the first year and this will reduce by £5 for each year that you stay.

You can choose an annual or monthly contract when you choose broadband.
